It’s a bit of shock looking to it, and realize what’s the date today. I don’t look at my calendar very often. Only when I need to sign something. Let’s go back a bit to the past. Not too far. When girls still think Tommy Page is cute, and NKOTB still rocks, I did look at calendar occasionally. When I wrote letters, fill my attendance card in school, or doing other things that might need those numbers.
But now, when people easily complaints if their cell phone don’t have 8 MP camera and don’t have QWERTY keypad, we don’t do things we used to. At least not as much as it used to be. Just like looking at calendar. We use emails, and when writing emails you don’t need to know the date. Our best buddy Outlook will take care of it automatically. You just need to press your thumb to fill your attendance card.
So back to the calendar. I don’t remember the last time I turn the calendar. But something telling me that it was two months a go! Sure, the calendar is still showing September, with a pretty nice IBM picture. That’s quite a long time ago!
Many of us, stop doing what we used to do. They who invented the technology will say, it is for our shake. Stop worrying things that we can handle, and just worry about essential matters. Our technology will reduce errors, let you be more productive, efficient, bla…bla…bla… It is true allright… But sometimes I just missed to be not productive. I missed of making mistakes. It’s a workout for my brain. Those are things to keep me away from being insane.
Let’s talk more about the old days. Evergreen songs are from the past. I like listening to Genesis, Lionel Richie, Alphaville, Queen, Motley Crue, Skid Row and others. Not that I hate Evanescence or Linkin Park. But their songs don’t lasts long. Say their songs are #1 hits in Billboard. But several months later, I don’t feel like want to hear their songs.
If you watch Star Wars, I think the new sequel is not as good as the old ones. True that the special effects are much better. But, I don’t know, I just can’t enjoy it. Can you believe that in the 70’s Lucas can make better movies with very limited technology? Now when you can do any special effects easily with computers, he just loose his creativity.
Do you think people are loosing their creativity? I don’t remember any invention that can really be considered as a milestone in human evolution. The technology that supposed to let human explore more than before, seems doesn’t work well. At least, for me.
